The region is absolutely known for its beautiful beaches and wineries but there are plenty of memorable experiences waiting beyond the usual tourist stops.

Whether you’re planning a getaway weekend, a family trip, or simply want to try something new on your day off, here are a few unique local experiences worth adding to your list.

Try Goat or Puppy Yoga in Prince Edward County & Belleville

A yoga experience that’s a little more playful! Gentle movement with plenty of animal cuddles for a yoga class you’re not likely to forget.

Goat Yoga With Mikenze in Prince Edward County

Goat Yoga With Mikenze is a memorable way to experience yoga in the countryside. Held at Tanglewood Farm & Equestrian Centre in Consecon, the beginner-friendly classes combine gentle yoga with time spent around playful, curious goats. As you move through your practice, the goats are free to wander, interact with participants, and become part of the class. There’s also plenty of time to cuddle and connect with them after your practice. Perfect for groups, celebrations, families, or anyone looking for a story-worthy PEC experience.

If puppies are more your thing, Puppy Yoga With Mikenze offers another fun way to experience yoga located at the PEC Lavender Farm during the summer, and Social Wellness Collective in Belleville for the rest of the year. Adorable puppies join you during a gentle yoga class, creating an experience that’s part yoga session, part animal encounter, and entirely memorable. Public classes are hosted at partner locations throughout the area, while private puppy yoga sessions can also be brought to you for celebrations and special occasions.

Try Step, Float & Restore With Seven Paddles in Bay of Quinte

Combine adventure and relaxation into one unique outdoor experience!

Step, Float & Restore brings together kayaking, hiking and yoga in one unique outdoor experience. The event is a collaboration between Yoga With Mikenze, Let’s Go Cassie and Seven Paddles.

You’ll spend part of the experience on the water, exploring by kayak, followed by a guided hike and a stretch-based yoga class. It’s a great way to experience the outdoors while giving your body a chance to slow down and recover afterward.

Seven Paddles also offers kayak and canoe rentals if you’d rather create your own paddle adventure. Their sit-on kayaks are designed for both beginners and experienced paddlers, with opportunities to explore the Trent River and Bay of Quinte.

Meet the Ostriches at Struisvogel Ranch

Believe it or not, there’s an ostrich farm just outside Prince Edward County!

Struisvogel Ranch – Ostrich Farm & Store in Carrying Place offers an ostrich walk where visitors can get a closer look at these fascinating birds while learning about the farm.

It’s an especially fun stop if you want to add something completely unexpected to your day. The visit can also make a great family-friendly detour when you’re exploring the area.

Sometimes the best travel memories come from the places you didn’t expect to find.

Wander Through the Lavender Fields

Looking for a peaceful and picturesque stop while exploring Prince Edward County? Take a stroll through the lavender fields at PEC Lavender Farm in Hillier.

Visitors can wander through the fragrant fields, explore the knot garden and flower beds, plus browse the farm boutique filled with lavender and herb-based products. The farm grows several varieties of lavender, each offering its own colours, scents and uses.

It’s a beautiful spot for a relaxing afternoon, a few photos, or simply slowing down and enjoying a different side of the County. If you’re visiting during peak bloom, typically from late June through July, the fields are especially beautiful.
